The Wallabee Champ

When I was in the 10th grade the greatest rap album ever dropped; Wu-Tang Forever. 2 Discs, 10 MCs, over 20 songs of “Hip Hop in its purest form”-RZA

After that album I was hooked on the Wu. Every release, I was in line to get that hotness. And I went back through the old catalogue to catch up my knowledge too. Ironman was classic. Only Built For Cuban Links was classic.  Out of all the members, Cappadonna, Raekwon The Chef, And Ghostface Killah just stood out to me. The street tales, of course were riveting. The whole “slanguage” that is pretty much indistinguishable to outsiders was captivating. But more than that, it was their CLOTHES. The leathers, the timbs, WU-WEAR. Oh, and the Wallabees. Clarke’s Wallabees.

Technically a boot from English brand Clark, the Clan loved “Wally’s” in all the varieties that they came, not to mention wild colors too. Blending a high class piece of footwear with street gear was unheard of, couture before its time. Hand made leather or suede uppers stitched to an uber thick rubber sole makes for a surprisingly comfortable and durable shoe. The median price on a pair is about $150 but its worth it, they last. I’ve had each of my pair at least 10 years with no noticeable wear and tear except normal shoe wear and tear.

If you’re into high quality footwear and being ahead of your time, Clark may have the boot for you. I’m my humble opinion, they’re fresh shoes for a man with a fresh demeanor.

Sincerely,
Mr. H
