Fresh Flavor of The Season: Cords

image

I’m not going to beat your head in talking about something I’m sure you’ve heard plenty times this year. Nope. Not the purpose of this. What I am going to do, however, is explain rather briefly why you’re definitely not in the loop if you don’t have at least one pair of cords in your regular rotation for the fall /winter season.

Cords (short for corduroy) pants are all the rave right now, and why not? These aren’t the same slouchy fitting, heavy, ugly brown pants your mom made you wear in the family Christmas pictures. Today’s designers have mixed the old school fabric with the most trendy of cuts ( think slim leg, low rise) to really create a whole new sub genre of pants. Trendy enough to wear to dinner with oxfords and a sweater, but still functional enough to shovel snow in, the pants provide a warmth that is welcome as the temperature takes a dip. And we haven’t even mentioned the bold colors yet. Cords in olive. Cords in green. Cords in peach, and all colors in between. Any color you can find for chinos, you can find in corduroy now. Personally, I like the fit of The Gap’s version but as always, find the brand YOU like and stick with it.

If you are looking for a shot to spice up your wardrobe and show some sophistication while still feeling safe and comfortable, this is the move for you. Cords mold to your body shape and become softer each time you wear (and wash) them; break a pair in right, they’ll feel like you’re wearing sweatpants. There are many ,many trends that come and go, but cords have deservedly earned the Fresh Demeanor stamp of approval. Black Friday should have them very reasonably priced so really, you have no excuse.

Sincerely Fresh,
Mr. H
