Dress For Success

A company’s dress code is a simple requirement that will affect the decisions you make every morning, afternoon or night depending on the perspective shift you occupy for employment.

These requirements have been adopted by Corporate America for good reason. Your attire directly affects and represents your employer’s image.  It doesn’t matter if you run a landscaping business or manage a financial institution. (word to D&P Services and Ameriana Bank)  You are a walking advertisement to potential customers, potential investors & the community.

Of course, dress codes will obviously vary depending on your employer and your area of expertise. Walk into your local bank and notice the difference in attire between a Receptionist, Bank Teller & Management. Different? Yes but, they are all considered “Business Casual”.

Do you meet your minimum dress code requirements or do you dress for success? Here are just a few things to consider for your corporate ensemble to set you apart from the rest…

1. Collared Shirt – Expand your horizons beyond a short sleeve polo. Try a fresh pinstriped dress shirt accompanied with a paisley Tie/Bowtie combo.

2. Kakhis – Try darker colored chinos or dress slacks. Most importantly make sure they fit. Walking on the back of your pants due to an incorrect length is unacceptable.

3. Casual Shoe (rubber soles) – give the Sketcher-esque shoes a rest and walk assertively in a pair of Oxfords, Wingtips or Loafers.

In a normal business casual atmosphere you will be perfectly fine in Khakis, Collared shirt and casual shoes. The crew at Fresh Demeanor refuses to settle for the minimum and we expect nothing less from our readers.

Stand out from the crowd. Display your demeanor for the world to see. Set a new standard. Dress for success.
