What Did We Do To Women?

We definitely love our classy and sophisticated women.  We applaud the achievements of Michelle Obama, Mellody Hobson, and Beyonce.  Women are more successful than any other time.  Women are graduating from college and at a much higher rate than men.  They are also getting hired more and beginning to close the income gap.  Yet there is a startling change in our women.  Women are becoming brash, rude, distant, and their language has become quite explicit.  They are exuding the same barbarism as well, men.

Is it no wonder especially with the rise of such realities shows as Basketball Wives, Love & Hip-Hop, and The Bad Girls Club, that this trend continues to grow?  Women appear to be more aggressive, angry, out of control, and promiscuous than ever.

Brawls and fistfights used to be the stories of young men with no self-control.  But maybe you recall these incidents noted here and here involving women.  We’ve seen women flip over tables in rage, lunge over tables, throw drinks, and slam heads on car hoods.  Who has not heard a mother in Wal-Mart curse her own child out?  It may be worse that some women are no longer disciplining or involved in the lives of their children.

This in no way applies to all women.  But what we see has a profound effect on us.  It seems these actions and behaviors are on the rise with our young ladies.
